During this severe recession many stores feel obliged to offer us cheaper, more basic options to their normal ranges. Their packaging tends to be plain and unembellished, the contents mundane, and the text bereft of decorative language or superlative claims. As a response to this, and a reaction to the ‘Silver Guilt’ collection, I also felt compelled to offer an alternative range with more mundane origins, using the ubiquitous black refuse sack. As I enjoy saying “Hooray” to the humdrum, I feel fully justified in adding literal frills to my ‘no frills’ collection!
