Bow Bangle

There is an unspoken language of semiotics, especially through colour, when it comes to packaging our food and carrying it home. We unconsciously read where a bag or product has been bought from, how healthy it might be or what it might be used for. I am often able to use this unspoken language to my advantage, and present a recognizable colour in an unusual form, confusing but also engaging the viewer. Have you seen that colour somewhere before…? These bangles are crocheted and woven into a tightly wound ‘rope’, then given a title that might hint at material origin, or play on common words or phrases.
